Giving the Body Time and Permission to Flow Into Shapes
There was no choreography here. I just let my body ask itself what it wanted to become next.
I had to learn that there is a huge difference between moving towards something and arriving for something. Most of us live in arriving.. We rushed towards the next shape that life wants from us before we’ve even had a chance to fully breathe into the one we’re in.
But the body doesn’t work that way, and neither does becoming.
Tonight I let the hoop hold me while I took my time moving into through transitions, savoring each pause, and allowing each spin spent in a shape to feel like luxury.
No combo or an impatiently waiting move forcing me to finish the one before it. Just permission to pause inside of a shape to feel whether it fit, and then letting the next one move into my body instead of trying to arrive at a conclusion.
This is not just how I move in Lyra. This is how I learned to move in life. This is what happens when you stop trying to arrive for your life and actually start living inside of it. Let the flow be messy. Let it be minimal. Let it exist. Flow doesn’t need perfection or force.
How long has it been since you let yourself flow into who you’re becoming, instead of rushing to arrive there?
Reflection in the sacred pause
