Polerapy | The Aerial Midlife

You don’t need to
perform your healing.
You just need somewhere
to let it move.

“Pole didn’t choose me by accident.
It chose the version of me that was ready
to stop performing and start becoming.”

— SHONNON NICOLE

Intimate essays, audio transmissions, videos and embodiment reflections from inside a pole dancer’s healing practice — for women in midlife who are ready to come back to their bodies on their own terms.

This is your invitation to no longer perform your healing and actually emobdy it, one step, one decision, one pause, one movement at a time.

THIS IS FOR YOU

THIS SPACE IS FOR YOU IF:

The question I keep
getting asked is:
how do you do it?

How do you let yourself be seen — really seen — without flinching? How do you reclaim your sensuality like it was
never taken from you? How do you survive the newness
of starting over — on the pole, and in life — when
everything in you wants to quit before anyone notices
you trying?

  • You are a woman in midlife who has spent years moving your body for everyone else — for approval, for presentation, for proof of your worth, for evidence that you have earned the right to rest.
  • You have forgotten what it feels like to move just because you are alive and your body is asking you to.
  • You are curious about sensuality not as performance, but as self-knowledge.
  • You want to watch someone do the brave, awkward, beautiful work of learning to inhabit herself — and feel permission to do the same.
  • You do not need to pole dance. You just need to be a woman who is ready to come back into her body on her own terms.

This membership exists to answer that question. Not with a formula.
But with the truth of what it actually looks like from the inside.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE EACH MONTH

A sacred container,
not a content machine.

One anchoring piece per month. Everything else is an invitation, not an obligation.
The library grows quietly in the background, compounding in value the longer you stay.

BOTH TIERS

The monthly essay

A personal essay from inside my practice — the breakthroughs, the grief, the things that only come when you are upside down and out of excuses. Raw. Unpolished where it needs to be.

BOTH TIERS

Somatic journaling prompt

A single question to carry into your own body and your own life. No pressure to share. This is yours to sit with, write into, or simply feel.

FULL CIRCLE TIER

Messages that came mid-spin

Intimate audio and video recordings made while the download is still warm — right after practice, when the transmission hasn’t had time to become something more polished or presentable. This is the thing nobody else is making.

MY STORY

Why pole chose me.

Shonnon is a transformational life coach, writer, and aerialist. She guides midlife women through major life transitions using her Becoming Framework. Polerapy is where all of it began.

I want to start by telling you something I didn’t fully understand when I bought the pole: I wasn’t looking for a workout. I wasn’t even looking for a hobby. I was looking for a way back into a body I had stopped trusting.

I had lost babies. Several. But it was Olivia — my daughter, my stillborn daughter — who broke something open in me that I couldn’t name for a long time. My body had failed at the one thing I believed it was built to do. So I punished it the only way I knew how: I never let it rest.

That is who I was before the pole. A woman making an uneasy peace with the body she lived in. A woman just beginning to understand how far she had drifted from herself.

I should tell you how I met my husband Rick — because it matters here. I was a midnight ballerina. A dancer. And whatever picture that paints for you, I carry no shame about it. But what I did on that stage was performance. It was exotic. It was sexy. But it was never — not once — for me.

So when something told me to buy a pole and set it up in our bedroom, I locked Rick out. Not because of him. Because of me. Because for the first time in longer than I could remember, I needed to move my body without it being for anyone else’s pleasure.

Here is what I learned: sensuality has nothing to do with being sexy. I performed sexy for a living. I know the difference. Sensuality is a state of being. You cannot fake it. You cannot perform your way into it. Pole gave me my first real taste of it — and everything I share in this membership flows from that first honest look in the mirror.

A SMALL, SACRED CIRCLE

I intend to keep it that way.

I am not going to teach you how to pole dance.

I am going to show you what happens when a woman
stops abandoning her body and starts listening to it instead.
Month by month. Spin by spin. One honest essay at a time.
